This vital role involves operating advanced medical imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images that assist physicians in evaluating and treating patients. Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort throughout the exam
- Operate a variety of radiologic imaging equipment including X-ray and C-Arm
- Implement radiation safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and yourself from unnecessary exposure during all imaging activities
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to perform diagnostic evaluations across emergency rooms, urgent care centers, and Level I and Level II trauma centers
- Maintain detailed records of procedures performed, ensuring accuracy for medical documentation and billing purposes
- Assist in specialized imaging techniques such as sonography and interventional radiography when required
- Ensure all medical equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and operated according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards
Requirements
- Proven experience working in Radiology
- Proficiency in operating radiologic imaging equipment including X-ray and C-Arm
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic radiology principles to accurately interpret imaging needs
- Familiarity with radiation safety procedures and implementing radiation protection measures during all procedures
- Experience with patient care techniques such as aseptic technique and ensuring patient comfort during complex procedures
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced environments
- Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT or equivalent) is required
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with medical staff and educate patients about procedures
