Role Overview
Provides radiographic procedures adhering to professional and departmental standards to support patient diagnosis and care.
Responsibilities
- Performs imaging exams with appropriate techniques, positioning, and protocols to ensure optimal results.
- Assists in training radiography students and communicates effectively with patients for informed consent and procedure explanations.
- Recognizes and addresses clinical or emergent issues to ensure safety and exam quality.
- Accurately identifies and tracks patients and files, maintaining proper documentation within the Radiology Information System.
- Maintains radiation safety standards, uses protective shielding, and ensures patient safety during procedures.
- Prepares and maintains imaging rooms, supplies, and equipment following safety and operational standards.
- Stays current with technological advances through continuing education and participates in departmental initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Recent hospital radiologic technologist experience preferred.
- Ability to perform on-call, shift, holiday, and weekend duties.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of electronic health records.
- Strong communication, confidentiality, crisis management, and customer service skills.
- Licensed in DE with a Delaware State Radiation license and BLS certification.
- Associate's Degree in a related field required.
