Radiology Technician

About This Role

This role involves performing radiographic examinations under the direction of a physician, assessing patients, and assisting with fluoroscopic procedures. It suits a dedicated professional passionate about patient-centered care in a collaborative physician office setting.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients, assist the Physician in performing fluoroscopic procedures, prepare films for interpretation, maintain patient and departmental records, supplies, and equipment
• Verify Physician orders
• Warm x-ray machine following standard protocols and check for any malfunctions, notifying supervisor as needed
• Utilize proper exposure factors and perform radiographic exams following established protocols
• Process radiographs
• Respect patient privacy by keeping the x-ray door closed except to move patients in and out of the room
• Assure a workflow program is established, followed, and maintained
• Establish and enforce a system component maintenance schedule for cleaning and service
• Troubleshoot system errors as they arise
• Respond to end-user questions and requests for service in a timely and efficient manner
• Understand role for National Patient Safety Goals

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Imaging Program
• ARRT or registry eligible; must have ARRT within one year post graduation
• AHA BLS
• State license if required
