About the role
Role Overview Provides general radiology and fluoroscopic imaging in various hospital areas, including emergency, surgery, and bedside services, under supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs imaging exams following departmental protocols, positions patients, and reviews clinical histories and previous studies.
- Ensures patient safety, accurate identification, privacy, and proper documentation in RIS.
- Prepares sterile fields, contrast agents, and maintains supplies; assists radiologists during procedures.
- Post-processes images, prepares for interpretation, and transmits to PACS.
- Maintains equipment, reports malfunctions, and ensures safety protocols are followed, including radiation safety principles.
- Provides compassionate patient care, explains procedures, and assists with patient transport.
- Functions as part of resuscitation teams during emergencies and maintains departmental cleanliness and order.
- Shares on-call duties, pursues continuing education, and participates in departmental meetings.
Qualifications
- Associates degree in radiologic technology or equivalent experience.
- Radiographer license, ARRT certification, and BLS certification required.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in trauma, fluoroscopy, and surgery settings.
