Job Description Role: Staff Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology Department, responsible for delivering precise ionizing radiation treatments in accordance with physician prescriptions.
Key Responsibilities
Operate radiation-producing equipment safely and perform complex technical procedures.
Participate in quality control monitoring and ensure accurate patient treatment.
Assess patient mobility, document in EMR, and educate patients and families on treatment side effects and safety measures.
Follow protocols for safety, including radiation badge use and universal precautions.
Simulate new patients and assist with scheduling and patient communication.
Recognize limitations, seek assistance when needed, and report adverse reactions immediately.
Contribute as a clinical instructor for students and participate in on-call rotations.
Qualifications & Skills Associate’s Degree from an accredited Radiation Therapy program.
Certifications: ARRT Radiation Therapy and BLS (Instructor preferred).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Radiation Therapy Experience Preferred. Ability to treat and simulate patients accurately and safely.
Additional Information: Willingness to assist colleagues and perform extra tasks as needed, with a focus on compassionate patient care and teamwork.
