This full-time position is for a Radiation Therapist at the company's Maui, HI facility. The role involves delivering radiation treatment, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and accurately documenting treatment records. Responsibilities

• Deliver radiation treatment according to written prescription and treatment plan
• Ensure safety in patient care through consistent practice of departmental procedures for treatment administration
• Identify correct patient, escort patient to treatment room, assist patient onto the treatment table, position patient for treatment, deliver radiation from the control room, and assist the patient in exiting the treatment room
• Provide and ensure an environment of caring, concern, and support for patients, visitors, medical staff, and co-workers on a consistent basis
• Assure the quality of treatment delivery through complete and accurate documentation of treatment records
• Recognize deviation from prescribed treatment delivery and report all deviations to the Chief Therapist and/or Physicist
• Use effective communication techniques and interpersonal skills to provide explanations for treatment-related procedures
• Explain treatment procedures to patient and/or family
• Refer medical questions to appropriate personnel
• Respond effectively to patient concerns
• Observe patients for expected and unexpected reactions to treatments and communicate this to appropriate staff members
• Reinforce patient education/side effect management information and indicate non-compliance to medical/nursing staff
• Independently perform patient simulations at the request of physician
• Collect and document data acquired during the simulation procedure
• Accurately input treatment-related data into the EMR
• Make any appropriate patient–centric recommendations to the physician
• Assist as needed in all treatment-related procedures, including transporting patients, reviewing charts, and ordering supplies
• Recognize standard imaging / ARGT and make necessary adjustments to ensure high quality treatment
• Perform and document daily and weekly QA checklist
• Notify appropriate clinical team members and document findings outside the normal range of operations
• Participate in programs to measure and improve the quality of care within the Department
• Use critical thinking to troubleshoot and often fix common quality issues
• Capture and verify patient treatment charges

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or College/Technical Certification in ARRT Accredited Radiation Therapy Program
