Radiation Therapist

Location: Central New York

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday

Compensation: $40.00–$55.20/Hour + Bonuses or Stipends + Comprehensive Benefits

Job Summary Our client, a leading cancer care provider in Central New York, is seeking a full-time Radiation Therapist to join its experienced and compassionate clinical team.

This role is responsible for accurately delivering prescribed radiation treatments while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and exceptional care throughout the treatment process.

The ideal candidate is an ARRT-certified Radiation Therapist who combines strong technical skills with a patient-centered approach and enjoys working collaboratively with physicians, physicists, dosimetrists, and other healthcare professionals.

Job Responsibilities

• Accurately administer prescribed radiation treatments under physician direction.
• Operate linear accelerators, simulators, and related radiation therapy equipment.
• Position patients accurately and comfortably for treatment delivery.
• Utilize knowledge of anatomy and physiology to support accurate treatment targeting.
• Follow established radiation safety procedures and clinical protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians, physicists, dosimetrists, and other clinical team members.
• Monitor patients throughout treatment and communicate relevant concerns to the clinical team.
• Maintain accurate treatment records and patient documentation.
• Perform basic equipment troubleshooting and routine operational adjustments when appropriate.
• Assist with training students and colleagues on equipment operation and established procedures.
• Maintain a safe, professional, and organized treatment environment.
• Provide compassionate communication and support to patients throughout their care.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy program approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Current ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy required.
• Strong understanding of radiation therapy procedures, patient positioning, and radiation safety.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to treatment accuracy.
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary cancer care team.
• Compassionate, professional approach to patient care.

Preferred Experience

• One or more years of professional Radiation Therapist experience.
• Experience operating linear accelerators and simulation equipment.
• Oncology or cancer treatment center experience.
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary radiation oncology team.
