About the role
The Rad Tech I is responsible for operating imaging equipment to perform radiologic procedures for a specific patient population, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
Key Duties Include
- Performing accurate radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety methods.
- Monitoring compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and organizational policies.
- Managing resources such as supplies and equipment efficiently.
- Demonstrating professional behavior and providing excellent customer service in all interactions.
Qualifications
- Technical degree or diploma in Radiology.
- Registered Radiologic Technologist certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- BASIC LIFE SUPPORT certification from the American Heart Association.
Skills And Abilities
- Knowledge of radiographic equipment and imaging procedures.
- Effective communication with patients and staff.
- Basic understanding of radiology information systems (RIS, HIS, PACS preferred).
Physical demands include: climbing, standing, walking, reaching, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs., with frequent patient contact and exposure to bodily fluids and hazardous materials. Must have good coordination, vision, and quick reaction skills for emergency situations. This role does not have supervisory responsibilities but may demonstrate procedures and instruct student technologists.
