Overview

**Objective:**Execute and analyze accounting tasks to prepare and report accurate financial statements for assigned agencies, in accordance with Publicis Groupe guidelines and applicable accounting standards (GAAP and/or IFRS). Ensure integrity, accuracy, and timely compliance of reported information, while proactively identifying issues, resolving discrepancies, and proposing process improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and mitigate risks.

Responsibilities

  • Journal Entries & Accounting Operations

  • Prepare, review, and validate journal entries to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.

  • Ensure journal entries comply with applicable accounting principles, GAAP and/or IFRS, and Publicis Groupe accounting guidelines.

  • Review supporting documentation and account coding to ensure completeness, accuracy, and appropriate approvals.

  • Identify accounting discrepancies or unusual transactions and determine the appropriate corrective actions.

  • Provide technical guidance to team members regarding journal entry preparation and accounting treatment.

  • Recommend and implement improvements to journal entry processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements for highly complex entities in accordance with Group reporting requirements.

  • Ensure financial reporting complies with applicable accounting frameworks, including GAAP and/or IFRS.

  • Perform detailed analysis of financial results, identifying significant variances, trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Review financial information to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency across reporting periods.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to leadership based on financial analysis and identified risks.

  • Drive the implementation of best practices and process improvements within financial reporting activities.

  • Support the preparation of management reports and other financial information required by internal stakeholders.

  • Account Reconciliations & Issue Resolution

  • Prepare, analyze, and review complex account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and company guidelines.

  • Investigate discrepancies between accounting records, supporting documentation, and related systems.

  • Proactively monitor and follow up on outstanding reconciliation items to ensure timely resolution.

  • Resolve accounting differences and ensure appropriate corrective actions are documented and implemented.

  • Apply established escalation procedures when issues cannot be resolved within the required timeframe.

  • Coordinate meetings with agencies and relevant stakeholders to address critical reconciliation issues.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify root causes and improve reconciliation procedures.

  • Recommend and implement enhancements to increase reconciliation efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.

  • Month-End, Quarter-End & Year-End Close

  • Coordinate and execute monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities for assigned entities.

  • Ensure all closing activities are completed accurately and within established deadlines and departmental performance standards.

  • Perform mismatch analysis, FMC controls, variance analysis, and other key closing procedures.

  • Monitor the progress of closing activities and proactively identify potential delays, risks, or errors.

  • Review and validate key closing deliverables before submission.

  • Provide expert guidance and support to team members throughout the close process.

  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to resolve issues that may impact the financial close.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline closing activities and implement improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and quality.

  • Stakeholder Support & Ad-Hoc Requests

  • Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding accounting and financial reporting matters.

  • Investigate and resolve ad-hoc accounting inquiries, special requests, and complex financial issues.

  • Collaborate with related departments and cross-functional teams to gather information and determine appropriate solutions.

  • Provide timely and accurate updates to leadership regarding critical inquiries, issues, and pending requests.

  • Manage priorities independently while maintaining high standards of responsiveness, accuracy, and quality.

  • Ensure stakeholder requests are addressed within agreed timelines and in accordance with applicable accounting requirements.

  • Internal, External & FMC Audits

  • Support internal, external, and FMC audits by preparing and delivering accurate and timely financial information and supporting documentation.

  • Investigate and respond to auditor inquiries in accordance with accounting standards and organizational requirements.

  • Act as a key point of contact during audit activities and coordinate responses with relevant stakeholders.

  • Ensure audit requests are tracked, prioritized, and completed within established deadlines.

  • Provide guidance to team members regarding audit requirements and appropriate supporting documentation.

  • Identify opportunities to improve audit readiness and strengthen documentation and supporting processes.

  • Support the implementation of corrective actions resulting from audit findings.

  • Risk Management & Corrective Actions

  • Proactively identify accounting, reporting, reconciliation, and process risks that could impact financial close or audit activities.

  • Anticipate potential process deviations and develop proactive solutions to minimize operational and financial impact.

  • Communicate significant risks, issues, and deviations promptly to leadership.

  • Investigate the root causes of recurring process issues and recommend sustainable solutions.

  • Lead or participate in the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

  • Monitor corrective actions to ensure long-term process stability and compliance.

  • Promote a proactive risk-management approach across the team.

  • Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting, reporting, reconciliation, and close processes.

  • Develop and implement optimization strategies aligned with departmental objectives and business requirements.

  • Lead initiatives focused on increasing process efficiency, accuracy, quality, and compliance.

  • Analyze existing workflows and identify opportunities to eliminate inefficiencies, reduce manual activities, and improve turnaround times.

  • Promote best practices and standardized processes across the team.

  • Measure the impact of implemented improvements and communicate results to relevant stakeholders.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and encourage a culture of operational excellence.

  • Process Documentation & Training

  • Develop, maintain, and regularly update process manuals, procedures, and supporting documentation.

  • Ensure processes are properly documented to support standardization, knowledge transfer, and compliance with internal controls.

  • Identify gaps or outdated information within existing documentation and implement necessary updates.

  • Ensure team members consistently apply documented procedures and established best practices.

  • Design and deliver high-quality training sessions covering accounting processes, procedures, controls, and best practices.

  • Provide ongoing coaching and support to facilitate the adoption of new or improved processes.

  • Promote knowledge sharing and ensure critical process knowledge is effectively transferred across the team.

  • Transformation, Automation & Special Projects

  • Actively participate in and, when appropriate, lead quality, transformation, efficiency, and process improvement projects.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for automation and process standardization.

  • Support the implementation and adoption of new tools, technologies, and automated solutions.

  • Evaluate the potential impact of new tools and process changes on efficiency, accuracy, and quality.

  • Coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of transformation initiatives.

  • Monitor project outcomes and identify additional opportunities for optimization.

  • Contribute to strategic initiatives aligned with departmental and organizational objectives.

  • Technical Leadership & Team Support

  • Serve as a technical reference and subject-matter expert for the accounting team.

  • Provide guidance and support in resolving complex accounting, reporting, reconciliation, and closing issues.

  • Assist junior team members with technical questions and challenging accounting situations.

  • Review work and provide constructive feedback to promote accuracy and adherence to established standards.

  • Coach and support junior team members in developing their technical and analytical capabilities.

  • Promote professional growth, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning within the team.

  • Encourage adherence to best practices, accounting principles, internal controls, and departmental standards.

  • Act as a reliable escalation point for complex issues requiring specialized accounting knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree completed related to Business Administration, Accounting or Finance.
  • Advanced English level (oral & written skills).
  • At least 5 years of experience related to the accounting cycle, intercompany processes and month-end closing, preparation of financial reports, preparation and review of accounting entries.
  • Excel knowledge.
  • AI knowledge and Project Management experience is a plus.
