About This Role

This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join the Highways business and support the delivery of a 15-year, £325m Maintenance and Response (M&R) Contract for National Highways Area 10. It is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager to join a growing team in the North West, playing a key role in supporting the commercial success of a long-term strategic highways contract. You will work closely with operational, planning and commercial colleagues, as well as client stakeholders, helping to drive commercial performance across the contract.

Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Commercial Team in delivering the end-to-end commercial management of the Area 10 contract
• Ensure robust, accurate and timely cost and value reporting across projects and workstreams
• Maintain monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), commercial plans and forecasting information
• Support compliance with Amey's commercial processes, controls and governance requirements
• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of commercial processes and procedures
• Proactively manage subcontract accounts throughout the contract lifecycle
• Accurately value subcontractor works, process payments and issue payment notices in line with contractual obligations and deadlines
• Identify and prepare Early Warnings and Compensation Events in accordance with contract requirements
• Support effective collaboration between Commercial and Operational Teams
• Liaise with National Highways, client representatives and third parties regarding commercial matters, variations, claims and additional payments
• Provide detailed estimates, validate Work Orders and issue subcontract Task Orders
• Challenge resource allocations and costs to ensure value for money
• Work proactively to resolve commercial issues and support contract performance
• Ensure all commercial activities align with contractual requirements and reporting deadlines

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Commercial Manager or Quantity Surveyor role
• Experience within the highways, infrastructure or civil engineering sectors, ideally on National Highways contracts
• Strong commercial awareness and contract management skills
• Experience managing subcontractor accounts and payment processes
• Knowledge of cost reporting, forecasting and CVR production
• A good understanding of NEC4 Term Service Contract principles and administration
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
