Our client is an established telecommunication and utilities infrastructure contractor, specialising in fibre-optic networks, power cable installation, underground utilities and related civil works. They are hiring a Quantity Surveyor to support tendering, costing and commercial management for utilities and infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for underground utilities construction projects, covering materials, labour, and overheads.
- Develop and manage project budgets to maintain financial control and cost efficiency.
- Prepare, issue, and manage tender documents for underground utilities projects.
- Analyse and evaluate tender submissions to support effective contractor selection.
- Negotiate contracts and manage procurement activities for project requirements.
- Monitor project costs and expenditures against approved budgets.
- Prepare regular cost reports, financial forecasts, and project cost updates.
- Identify, assess, and report cost variations and contractual claims.
- Draft, review, and administer contracts and subcontracts, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, utility companies, and stakeholders on cost control, project feasibility, and contractual matters.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word)
- Experience in construction related roles and dealing with claim matters.
