The position involves providing cost management and commercial advice to clients across a diverse portfolio of projects and sectors throughout the entire project lifecycle. Responsibilities

• Provide cost management and quantity surveying services from project inception through to completion
• Prepare cost estimates, cost plans, and budget reports at various stages of the project lifecycle
• Advise clients on procurement strategies and support tender processes
• Prepare tender documentation, analyse tender returns, and make recommendations
• Manage project costs, monitor expenditure, and prepare regular cost reports
• Undertake measurement, valuations, and the assessment of variations
• Support contract administration and manage commercial risks
• Identify value engineering opportunities and advise clients on cost-saving measures
• Liaise with clients, contractors, architects, project managers, and wider consultant teams
• Support the preparation and agreement of final accounts

Requirements

• Experience in a Quantity Surveying or Cost Management role within a construction consultancy or relevant commercial environment
• A sound understanding of cost planning, procurement, tendering, and cost control
• Knowledge of construction contracts, ideally JCT and/or NEC
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective client relationships
• A proactive approach, with the ability to manage priorities and work collaboratively within a team
• A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• Working towards, or an interest in achieving, MRICS chartership
• Eligible to live and work in the UK
