Quality Inspector

About This Role

This role involves supporting daily operations, ensuring quality standards are met, and improving manufacturing processes by removing waste and change. The team is looking for three Quality Inspectors to provide evening, overnight, and weekend coverage.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations and ensure quality standards are met
• Improve the manufacturing process by removing waste and change
• Forecast monthly expenses for replacement gages and new materials
• Coordinate service and maintenance contracts
• Coordinate calibration of gages and measurement equipment
• Measure and record results of a variety of gages for ensured accuracy
• Create and place Purchase Requisitions for Vendor Calibration and approval to management
• Measure and certify gages that are held at Burndy vendors
• Interact with internal/external auditors for quarterly and annual audits
• Inspect material from tooling and connectors for final acceptance
• Reject material as required when non-conformance is found
• Interact with Plant Personnel to confirm in-process quality
• Perform Nuclear Inspections and certify all material certifications
• Conduct connector first piece inspections
• Interact with Customer Service Reps for order competition and questions
• Manage CMM Programs as well as hardware/software updates
• Write new programs for new first piece inspections and update current programs
• Work with Engineering and Quality departments to drive continuous quality improvement

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Proven work-ethic and strong attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task while maintaining multiple key plant programs
• Willingness to work overtime as needed
• Strong research abilities and the ability to convey learned knowledge in a way that people of varying backgrounds can understand
• An understanding of diplomacy and empathy when dealing with Auditors and Plant Personnel

Nice to have:

• Prior Quality Assurance auditing experience
• Experience with SAP systems
