Quality Inspector

About This Role

This role supports the delivery of key projects within the nuclear sector, working in a safety-focused environment where quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement are at the heart of everything the company does. The Quality Inspector will support the quality process to ensure high quality standards are maintained and in accordance with relevant requirements through quality control.

Responsibilities

• Support the quality process to ensure the high level of quality standards are maintained and in accordance with the relevant requirements through quality control
• Ensure compliance to customer and product specifications through rigorous inspections
• Conduct pre and in-service visual and dye-penetrant inspection of welds and raw material in accordance with applicable specifications and procedures
• Conduct out dimensional inspection including surface finish of products ensuring compliance to drawing requirements
• Conduct regular welding surveillance audits, e.g. control of WPS essential variables
• Conduct goods-in / out inspections on materials against specifications and project requirements
• Approve in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to Production Manager / Workshop Supervisor
• Carry out surveillance and inspection requirements in line with applicable Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) including supply chain
• Deal with document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarising rework and waste
• Maintain Inspection Measurement & Test Equipment in acceptable working condition at the point of inspection, e.g. Calibrated/PAT tested etc.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
• Coordinate and support NDT suppliers
• Interpret RT and PAUT where qualified
• Manage quality control NCR and observation
• Contribute towards business Ope Ex and continuous improvement programmes, i.e. Lessons Learned, SOP improvements
• Ensure compliance to the Quality Management Systems, policies and procedures to assure continuing compliance to ISO 9001, 19443, 14001, 45001 standards
• Report inspection activities effectively and accurately
• Report surveillance activities effectively and accurately
• Ensure compliance to the contract quality management plans and control of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
• Raise non-conformities / observations as the first line of defence
• Ensure traceability of raw material is maintained throughout manufacturing process

Requirements

• 3-5 years proven relevant experience as a Quality Inspector (essential)
