About the role
- Client is seeking a motivated QC Laboratory Technician for our Branchburg, NJ location.
- The QC Lab Technician will perform routine lab tests to support the production of photolithography chemicals and ancillary chemicals used in the semiconductor industry.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare samples and add reagents while adhering to all analytical standards.
- Work in a fast-paced QC lab to support local production and deliver results in a timely manner with excellent quality.
- Use analytical techniques to measure solvent content, viscosity, specific gravity, water content, color, normality, pH and other properties.
- Review test results for conformance to specifications.
- Generate and maintain accurate records of systems, procedures, and test results.
- Calibrate instruments and perform minor routine maintenance.
- Follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently.
- Work safely and cooperatively in a group setting
Education: Associate’s degree (with 2+ years’ experience) OR Bachelor’s degree (with hands-on lab experience).
Years of Experience: Approximately 2 years preferred; flexible for the right candidate with high-volume experience.
Required Skills: Lab safety, Gas Chromatography (GC), UV-Vis, Viscosity, Karl Fischer water testing.
Preferred Skills: SAP experience, Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
Ideal Background: Candidates with experience in high-volume labs are strongly preferred over research-focused backgrounds.
Physical Attributes:
Lifting of up to 50 lbs. without assistance Ability to work with organic solvents and chemicals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree in chemistry, Physics, or related Scientific discipline with 2+ years of hands-on laboratory experience OR Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Physics, or related Scientific discipline with demonstrated hands-on laboratory experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a QC or analytical laboratory setting.
- Familiarity with basic laboratory procedures and safety practices.
- Ability to follow SOPs and interpret routine technical data.
- Basic understanding of chemistry and lab instrumentation.
- Familiarity with SAP or LIMS a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Reliable team player with a commitment to safety and product quality.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- 90% Lab-Based Work: The role involves intensive hands-on laboratory testing.
- Production Support: Directly supports production by receiving samples and performing fast-turnaround testing.
- Decision Support: Results from this technician will direct the next steps in the production process.
