Quality Control Inspector - Document Control

About This Role

This night-shift post in Bethel, CT, involves extensive, detail-oriented documentation for package creation within the Quality Control department. The Quality Control Inspector will support the QC department by managing electronic files, creating document packages, and performing data entry and quality checks.

Responsibilities

• Organize, maintain, and manage electronic files and folder structures within the Windows file system
• Create, rename, move, archive, and retrieve documents according to established file management procedures
• Use Adobe Acrobat to arrange, reorder, insert, extract, and delete PDF pages
• Rotate pages and correct document orientation
• Combine multiple PDF files into complete document packages
• Verify document quality and completeness
• Perform accurate data entry and data maintenance in Microsoft Excel
• Apply and manage Excel data validation rules to ensure data accuracy and consistency
• Create and maintain conditional formatting rules to highlight exceptions, errors, and key data trends
• Review spreadsheets for completeness and correct data discrepancies
• Create, maintain, and execute Microsoft Word mail merge processes using Excel data sources
• Perform quality checks to ensure document accuracy, formatting consistency, and data integrity
• Meet established productivity, quality, and turnaround time requirements
• Read and interpret blueprints of machined and electronic parts
• Perform dimensional inspection of machined parts using calipers, micrometers, drop gages etc.
• Inspect electronics for soldering conformity
• Validate that supplier certificates of conformity meet engineering specifications
• Inspect and certify quality control paperwork
• Transact operations on electronic systems

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a quality functional role in a manufacturing environment
• Experience working with Adobe Acrobat Pro
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows file and folder management
• Strong working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Pro
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data entry and spreadsheet management, data validation, conditional formatting, and basic formulas and functions
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, including mail merge functionality
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments simultaneously
• Ability to use small hand tools
• Must be a U.S. person, defined as a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158

Nice to have:

• Experience managing large volumes of electronic documents
• Familiarity with document control, records management, or quality systems
• Experience working in engineering, manufacturing, legal, healthcare, or administrative support environments
• Knowledge of SharePoint, OneDrive, or other electronic document management systems
• Experience with digital photography, SLR cameras, and cropping of digital photos
