Quality Control Chemist

About This Role

This Quality Control Chemist role involves performing analytical testing on various materials and samples, operating and maintaining advanced chromatographic systems, and contributing to method development and validation. The position suits a chemist with experience in regulated environments who can collaborate effectively with scientific teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing of finished products, raw materials, in-process samples, and custom analytical services
• Operate HPLC, GC, and chromatographic detectors
• Troubleshoot and maintain analytical systems
• Develop methods
• Support validations and technical transfers
• Conduct stability assessments
• Investigate out-of-specification results
• Prepare reports, specifications, batch records, and technical documentation
• Collaborate with scientists, technicians, and project teams to manage tasks, timelines, resources, and project updates
• Participate in equipment qualifications, colleague training, and process improvement initiatives

Requirements

• BS or MS in chemistry or a related life science field
• 4+ years of related industry experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of analytical methods and analytical results interpretation
• Experience operating HPLC and GC instrumentation
• Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025, and ISO 17034 requirements
• Experience in GLP, GMP, or ISO-regulated environments
• Knowledge of quality systems in medical device, pharmaceutical, or clinical industries
• Experience with UV-Vis, RI, ELSD, FID, or other chromatographic detectors
• Experience with mass balance techniques traceable to primary pharmacopoeias
