About the role
Location: Sioux Falls, SD (Hybrid – 3 days in-office)
Sector: Global Agribusiness & Supply Chain
We are currently representing a powerhouse in the global agribusiness sector. As a farmer-owned cooperative with a massive international footprint, our client is a critical pillar in the food, grain, and energy supply chains.
They are seeking a high-caliber Quality Assurance Expert to act as a regional lead for food and feed safety compliance across their manufacturing facilities in the Upper Midwest. This is a pivotal role that bridges the gap between high-level quality strategy and hands-on plant operations.
The Opportunity:
Based out of Sioux Falls, you will oversee the integrity of Food Safety and Quality Management Systems (QMS) for multiple facilities. This is not a "desk-only" job; you will be the face of quality, partnering with local plant teams, leading audits, and driving a culture of proactive safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Governance: Scale and maintain a robust QMS, ensuring all documentation and food safety protocols are current and rigorously followed.
- CAPA Leadership: Take point on customer complaints and product deviations. You won’t just identify problems; you’ll lead the root-cause analysis and verify that corrective actions actually work.
- Audit Management: Direct the internal audit cycle and serve as the primary liaison for external regulatory bodies, ensuring the business is always "audit-ready."
- Performance Metrics: Analyze regional quality data to spot trends, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Culture & Coaching: Act as a mentor to plant leadership, providing training and coaching to ensure quality is a mindset, not just a checklist.
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience: At least 7 years of dedicated experience in food safety or quality assurance within a manufacturing environment.
- Education: High School Diploma required; a Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Food Science, or a related technical field is highly preferred.
- Certifications: PCQI (Human or Animal Feed) certification is a significant advantage.
- Travel: Ability to travel between 25-40% to regional plant sites.
- Communication: Strong public speaking skills for presentations and team training.
- Local Presence: Must be able to work out of the Sioux Falls office 3 days per week (2 days remote).
