Quality Assurance Engineer - Software Quality

About This Role

This engineering opportunity is within the Product Assurance Software Quality team, focusing on developing quality assurance skills as part of the wider Product Assurance community. The role involves assisting UK Engineering Directorate's software teams in missile programs to ensure high-quality weapon systems reach global partners, offering a chance to make an impact and advance a career in Quality.

Responsibilities

• Maintain software quality by following procedures and guidelines
• Lead Project Quality Assessments, identify risks and critical issues, and provide recommendations to monthly reports
• Communicate clearly, both orally and in writing
• Remain calm under pressure and cope well with unexpected changes
• Work independently as part of a functional and integrated team

Requirements

• Experience in software development, full life cycle, and quality assurance
• Knowledge of software processes including national and international standards and assurance requirements
• Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues across all programmes
• Collaborative but objective approach with an ability to influence change when required
• Ideally have an Engineering Degree or equivalent experience, with an understanding of new and appropriate technologies or proven experience
• British Citizen (restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply; all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS))

Nice to have:

• Auditing experience
• Experience or knowledge of configuration management, documentation and requirements management systems
