QA Manager

About This Role

This QA Manager role involves establishing, maintaining, and continuously improving the quality management system at INS, a strategic institute within SCK CEN. The manager will ensure compliance with international standards and regulations, working with internal teams and external partners, and contributing to the high quality standards and international reputation of INS.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and develop a Quality Manual for INS and the SMR-LFR programme, including the development, implementation, and maintenance of a quality management system (QMS) in accordance with relevant standards (ISO 9001, ISO 19443, etc.)
• Set up a quality system and Engineering Management Plan for the SMR-LFR programme and maintain cooperation with external partners within the international consortium, in addition to incorporating quality assurance into the overarching Integrated Management System already in place
• Establish and manage quality procedures, work instructions, and documentation
• Conduct internal audits and coordinate external audits and inspections to ensure compliance with the quality management system and relevant standards
• Supervise and conduct management reviews
• Supervise risk assessments and quality reviews for projects and programmes, with a focus on identifying risks and increasing the quality of deliverables
• Monitor compliance and follow up on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to ensure compliance with quality standards and continuous process improvement
• Report on quality indicators and submit proposals for continuous improvement
• Train and support employees with regard to quality awareness and procedures and serve as a point of contact for quality-related issues within the organisation

Requirements

• Master's degree in science, industrial sciences, or engineering sciences
• At least five years of quality management experience in a research or high-technology environment
• Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; must be able to understand complex processes and formulate pragmatic solutions
• Ability to inspire and encourage quality awareness
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Collaborative with awareness of the multicultural and international context and skilled at expanding relationships
• Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to set priorities and maintain an overview in a dynamic environment consisting of multiple projects
• Integrity and a sense of responsibility: acting according to the highest ethical and professional standards and paying attention to detail
