About This Role
This QA Engineer role involves manual testing of web applications to identify defects and ensure software quality. It suits a detail-oriented individual with experience in manual testing, test case execution, bug reporting, and basic knowledge of SQL and API testing using tools like Postman.
Responsibilities
- Analyze business requirements and application specifications to understand testing needs
- Design, write, and execute manual test cases and test scenarios
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and user interface testing
- Identify, document, and report software defects with clear reproduction steps
- Retest reported bugs and verify fixes before closure
- Perform API testing using Postman to validate responses, status codes, and request parameters
- Use SQL queries to verify database records and validate application data
- Maintain test cases, test execution reports, defect logs, and other testing documentation
- Collaborate with developers and other team members to investigate and resolve issues
- Participate in test planning, requirement reviews, and software quality improvement activities
- Ensure applications meet defined quality standards before release
Requirements
- 1
-3 years of experience in manual software testing or quality assurance
- Graduate in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent discipline
- Understanding of manual testing methodologies and software testing life cycle (STLC)
- Experience writing and executing test cases
- Knowledge of bug reporting, defect tracking, and retesting
- Basic understanding of SQL queries and database validation
- Familiarity with API testing fundamentals and Postman
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with development teams
