About The Role The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer role at MCS Group offers an exciting opportunity to join a global financial services organization at the forefront of technological innovation. As a key advocate for quality within an Agile team, you will drive quality assurance practices, including Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD), to ensure the delivery of high-quality, business-aligned software solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams comprising Product Owners, Developers, and QA professionals to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include designing test strategies, developing automated testing frameworks, and integrating AI tools to optimize testing workflows.

This position provides a platform to influence testing methodologies, contribute to the evolution of scalable automation frameworks, and ensure the deployment of reliable, performant software. The role emphasizes a shift-left approach, focusing on early testing and continuous improvement, with a strong emphasis on API-first automation and performance testing. Your expertise will help maintain high standards, improve efficiency, and support the organization’s commitment to delivering innovative financial technology solutions.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in QA automation within Agile environments, demonstrating proficiency with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or TestComplete. Strong programming skills in Java, JavaScript, and TypeScript are essential, along with proven capability in designing and maintaining scalable automation frameworks, preferably using Playwright or WebDriverIO. Experience integrating automation within CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or TeamCity is required. Familiarity with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber, as well as AI-driven testing tools, will be highly advantageous.

Candidates should have a solid background in API, functional, and end-to-end testing, with the ability to define acceptance criteria aligned with business requirements. Knowledge of non-functional testing, including performance, load, and stress testing using tools like JMeter or K6, is also important. A strong understanding of SDLC, quality engineering principles, and experience working within Agile or SAFe environments with distributed teams are key qualifications. Additional desirable qualifications include experience within financial services or trading platforms, knowledge of trade lifecycle processes, AWS/microservices/serverless architecture exposure, formal testing certifications such as ISTQB, and TDD/BDD design experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with global Business Analysts, Development, and QA teams to design and coordinate effective test strategies that align with project objectives.
  • Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated and functional tests within CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous quality delivery.
  • Leverage AI tools to optimize testing efficiency, automate workflows, and improve script creation and maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain scalable, self-healing automation frameworks capable of adapting to evolving application architectures.
  • Integrate AI-driven tooling into automation workflows to enhance testing accuracy and reduce manual effort.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and provide actionable recommendations to improve system performance and reliability.
  • Promote quality best practices across the Agile team, including unit testing, code reviews, and peer collaboration.
  • Mentor and coach team members to elevate QA standards and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Take ownership of deliverables, manage priorities effectively, and proactively raise risks and impediments to ensure timely delivery.
  • Maintain clear communication regarding project progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders at all levels.

Benefits The successful candidate will enjoy a competitive salary package complemented by comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, pension contributions, and flexible working arrangements. Working within MCS Group provides the opportunity to be part of a globally recognized, technology-driven financial organization that values innovation and excellence. You will have genuine influence over test strategies, tooling, and quality standards, contributing to impactful projects that shape the future of financial technology. The role offers a collaborative, Agile work environment with a diverse, international team, fostering professional growth and development.
