About the Role
We are looking for an experienced QA Engineer with strong expertise in testing data platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience validating data pipelines, backend APIs, data transformations, dashboards, and platform-level workflows — with a strong understanding of Azure Synapse, Data Warehouse, and medallion architecture.
This role involves ensuring data accuracy, integrity, performance, security, and end-to-end quality across the platform.
Key Responsibilities
1. Test Planning & Execution

Develop and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for:
-
Data pipelines and ETL workflows
-
Backend APIs
-
Frontend portals and reporting interfaces
2. ETL & Data Integrity Validation
-
Identify and troubleshoot issues related to:
-
ETL data accuracy and integrity
-
Data performance bottlenecks
-
Scalability concerns across data workloads
-
Work extensively on the Azure Synapse data platform, Data Warehouse layers, and medallion architecture.
3. Workflow & Onboarding Validation
- Validate data ingestion, transformation, and reporting workflows for new client onboarding.
- Ensure smooth end-to-end flow from source ingestion to reporting/analytics.
4. Dashboard & Analytics Testing
- Verify that dashboards, KPIs, and analytics views reflect accurate, consistent, and up-to-date data.
- Collaborate with BI/reporting teams for UI/UX and data validation.
5. Security & Access Control Testing

Test platform roles, permissions, and access controls for:

Authorization accuracy

Compliance and data governance requirements

Role-based access across tools and datasets
6. Test Automation

Design and maintain automated test suites for:

Regression testing

Functional and integration testing

API and data pipeline verification

Contribute to continuous testing pipelines within CI/CD environments.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in data platform testing, ETL validation, and pipeline quality assurance.
- Hands-on with Azure Synapse, Data Warehouse concepts, and medallion architecture.
- Proficiency in SQL for data validation and troubleshooting.
- Experience with API testing tools (Postman, RestAssured, etc.).
- Exposure to dashboard/reporting testing (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
- Experience with automation frameworks (Selenium, pytest, Robot Framework, or similar).
- Strong analytical, debugging, and documentation skills.
Good to Have
- Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines.
- Familiarity with data security/compliance testing frameworks.
- Understanding of cloud-native data architectures.
