About This Role
This Architect role involves designing, developing, enhancing, and maintaining scalable backend services and Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) layers. The Python Architect will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, reliable, and maintainable software solutions that support critical business workflows.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services using Python 3.10 and FastAPI
- Design and implement RESTful APIs, ensuring scalability, performance, and security
- Build and support BFF layers that enable seamless frontend integration
- Collaborate with product managers, QA teams, and developers to deliver product enhancements
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues across APIs, databases, logs, deployments, and frontend interactions
- Create and execute unit, integration, and API tests to ensure application quality
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to architecture and design discussions
- Support CI/CD processes, containerization, and deployment activities
- Assist in root-cause analysis, issue triaging, and continuous product improvement
- Contribute to engineering best practices, process improvements, and knowledge sharing initiatives
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong experience in Python development, preferably Python 3.10
- Hands-on experience with FastAPI and Uvicorn
- Experience developing REST APIs and backend services
- Strong understanding of data validation, error handling, dependency injection, and asynchronous programming
- Experience building or maintaining BFF architectures
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and distributed systems
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across application layers
- Experience designing and executing unit tests, integration tests, and API tests
- Knowledge of service-to-service communication patterns
- Ability to work independently with strong ownership and accountability
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- 6+ years of experience in software development
- Demonstrated experience in backend application development and API engineering
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
