PV Power Plant Startup & Testing Manager
Why this role matters
Help accelerate clean energy by bringing utility-scale solar assets online—safely, reliably, and on schedule. - Engagement: 1-year contract (W-2). You’ll report to the Senior Project Manager.
What you will do
- Run performance analytics on PV systems: inverters, trackers, substations, and SCADA/control systems.
- Plan and prepare sites for PPA, GIA, and ISO testing; steer startup and commissioning activities as the Owner’s representative.
- Coordinate test energy forecasts and AVR/AGC notifications with customers, the control center, and external parties.
- Partner with IT & SCADA teams on functional checks and point-to-point validation.
- Develop the commissioning schedule tied to mechanical completion with the SCADA Integrator and Execution Commissioning Project Manager.
- Validate SCADA HMI functionality and data accuracy with the SCADA Integrator and Commissioning Manager.
- Support CEWIS Critical Point Checkout with ROCC alarm checks/PGD.
- Identify and resolve performance deficiencies using data-driven reviews.
- Manage and report on commissioning performed by contractors and vendors at the project site; provide clear status reporting.
What you bring
- Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience with utility solar power systems.
Nice to have
- Academic or professional work centered on utility PV.
- Prior experience with SCADA systems for industrial plants/processes.
