Position Purpose:
The Purchasing Support Analyst supports the purchasing organization by delivering optimized reporting and improving workflows. This role partners closely with leadership and cross‑functional teams to simplify complex reporting, eliminate redundancies, and help buyers better understand purchasing, inventory, and supplier trends to support informed decision‑making.
Primary Responsibilities:
Reporting & Data Analysis

Develop, maintain, and enhance daily and weekly purchasing and inventory reports supporting buyers, regulatory teams, and leadership.

Extract, reconcile, and analyze data from multiple enterprise systems and reporting tools.

Identify and eliminate redundant or low‑value reports, consolidating outputs to improve efficiency and clarity.

Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of purchasing data and reporting deliverables.
Workflow & Process Improvement
-
Evaluate existing purchasing and reporting workflows to identify inefficiencies, manual processes, and opportunities for automation.

Partner with buyers, sourcing, regulatory, and IT teams to streamline processes and improve data flow.

Support transition of manual, spreadsheet‑based processes into standardized or automated reporting solutions.

Document reporting logic, workflows, and best practices to support scalability and continuity.
Buyer Support & Trend Insights

Act as a data and analytics partner to buyers, helping them interpret purchasing, inventory, and supplier trends.

Proactively identify patterns, exceptions, and risks (e.g., aged inventory, late POs, vendor anomalies) and communicate insights clearly.

Provide ad hoc analysis to support sourcing decisions, replenishment planning, and operational reviews.
Systems & Tools

Utilize advanced Excel and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI or similar) to create dashboards and analytical views.

Collaborate with IT, finance, and data teams to improve reporting tools, data quality, and system outputs.

Qualifications:
Advanced Excel skills; experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2-5 years of experience in purchasing support, supply chain analytics, business analysis, or reporting.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights.
Experience improving workflows and reducing manual or redundant reporting.
