About the Role
We have an opportunity available for a Public Health Medicine Specialist to join our experienced, and supportive Screening team in Prevention. The Public Health Medicine Specialist is responsible for providing public health medicine advice and technical support for the on-going quality, monitoring and evaluation of the screening programmes. You would undertake the statutory duties and responsibilities of a designated Medical Officer of Health or work towards designation within six months of appointment.

About you
You understand the importance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and are skilled in applying its principles effectively in your role. You build and maintain positive relationships at all levels, enhancing the quality and contributions of individuals and teams to achieve the organisations vision and goals. Driven and accountable, you are aware of your impact on others and are committed to continuously improving your leadership practice.
- A medical degree (MBChB or recognised equivalent), as well as a Masters' in Public Health (MPH) with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
- Vocational registration with either the New Zealand College of Public Health Medicine or the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine
- Expertise in Public Health Medicine
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in monitoring and evaluation of population health programmes
- Previous public sector and health sector experience
- The ability to work in complex organisations and with diverse stakeholders
- Current New Zealand drivers' licence
