About This Role
This role is for a psychiatrist to provide psychiatric evaluations and medication management in an outpatient private practice setting. The position offers flexibility in setting an appointment schedule, administrative support, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary care team. It suits a clinician who values evidence-based treatment, clear communication, and coordinated patient care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments
- Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans, including medication management and brief psychotherapeutic interventions
- Monitor treatment response and adjust care plans as clinically appropriate
- Maintain accurate and complete electronic health records, finalizing clinical notes within 24 hours of each session
- Respond to staff communications about patient care, medication questions, and refill requests within 24 hours, including outside scheduled appointment days
- Collaborate with the patient’s care team to promote continuity of care
- Uphold patient confidentiality, professional ethics, and applicable clinical and regulatory standards
- Participate in peer review and quality improvement activities as required
Requirements
- Medical Doctor (M.D.) degree and completion of an accredited psychiatry residency program
- Current, unrestricted New Jersey medical license
- Board certification or board eligibility in psychiatry
- Strong skills in psychopharmacology, differential diagnosis, and individualized treatment planning
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to timely documentation and responsive patient care
- Availability to provide in-person services at our Hackensack location strongly preferred
