Psychiatrist

About This Role

This part-time on-site role involves providing clinical psychiatric services to patients recovering from substance use disorders at a rehabilitation center. The psychiatrist will conduct assessments, diagnose co-occurring mental health conditions, develop treatment plans, and manage psychotropic medications, working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric assessments
• Diagnose co-occurring mental health conditions
• Develop and update treatment plans
• Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications in coordination with the medical team
• Deliver individual and group psychiatric consultations
• Collaborate with psychologists, counselors, and other health professionals
• Participate in case discussions to ensure integrated, holistic care
• Provide guidance on crisis management
• Contribute to staff training on mental health and addiction
• Help shape evidence-based protocols that support patient safety, recovery, and relapse prevention

Requirements

• Strong foundation in Medicine and Psychiatry, with the ability to manage complex addiction-related cases
• Demonstrated competencies in Psychiatric Care and Mental Health, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of co-occurring disorders
• Experience or training in Adolescent Psychiatry and adult psychiatry, particularly in the context of substance use and rehabilitation
• Recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with specialization in Psychiatry
• Valid professional registration and license to practice
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff
• Commitment to ethical, non-judgmental, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive care
• Strong documentation, time-management, and organizational skills, with a focus on continuity and quality of care

Nice to have:

• Experience in addiction medicine or working in rehabilitation, community mental health, or similar settings
