Psychiatric Nurse

About This Role

This full-time Registered Nurse position is for a psychiatric program within a newly renovated outpatient facility. The role involves working in a fast-paced, high-volume medication clinic as part of an interdisciplinary team, providing care for clients with serious mental illness and co-occurring disorders.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing communication and collaboration with onsite Providers (Psychiatrists and Nurse Practitioners), Primary Care Physicians, and/or each patient's Medical Care Home personnel to ensure well-coordinated care and proper discharge planning and transitioning
• Administer patient injections, perform medication checks and refills
• Complete required assessments on all new admissions
• Devise care plans, which include client referral or admission, medication doses, monthly medication checks with the physician, taking vitals at each clinic visit, administering therapies and treatments, evaluation of results, and summation of the plan's effectiveness
• Daily documentation and participation in the implementation of treatment plans for clients
• Coordinate health care resources and other services for clients and may also provide mental health support services and medical advice
• Assist physician with completion of medication check visits on returning patients as required
• Assist with maintaining and monitoring accuracy of client medical records

Requirements

• 2-3 years' experience working in inpatient or outpatient Mental/Behavioral health
• 2 years of Nursing experience
• 2 years of Mental health experience
• California license as a Registered Nurse (Bachelor’s)

Nice to have:

• 2 years of Outpatient experience
• Master's degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse
• BSN Certification as a Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse
