About the role
Duties
You will serve as Protocol Officer for the Headquarters, Installation Management Command. You will provide technical advice on planning, programming, designing and carrying out the protocol program for the U.S. Army Installation Management Command (IMCOM). You will be responsible for establishing all policies and procedures pertaining to IMCOM protocol programs to include ceremonies, conferences, official social command functions, and high level foreign and domestic visits.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: Expert experience in matters requiring a comprehensive knowledge of military protocol and ceremonies; experience with the elements of protocol, intricacies of etiquette, and courtesies afforded to visiting civilian, military, and foreign dignitaries; experience with protocol principles, methods, practices, and precedence to provide the full range of protocol support services; expert experience managing and controlling commander expenditures of representational contingency funds.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the GS-12 grade or equivalent.
