Location: Phoenix, AZ (Remote/hybrid eligible within U.S.)

Employment Type: Full-time

Salary Range: $54,000 – $104,000 (depending on experience)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Desk-Based Property Adjuster to investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle low to moderate complexity property insurance claims. This role operates within established guidelines and regulatory frameworks, ensuring fair and timely resolution of claims while delivering a strong customer experience.

This is a telephone-based claims role with no physical inspections required. You will manage a portfolio of claims from start to finish, working with internal teams, external vendors, and policyholders to ensure accurate outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of low to moderate complexity property claims from intake through settlement
  • Investigate claims using policyholder statements, third-party information, and supporting documentation
  • Evaluate coverage, liability, and damages in accordance with policy terms and state regulations
  • Negotiate fair and equitable settlements within assigned authority limits
  • Document all claim activity accurately and maintain complete and compliant file records
  • Identify potential fraud indicators or special investigation needs when applicable
  • Utilize estimating tools and platforms to assess property damage and develop loss estimates
  • Collaborate with vendors, internal teams, and external partners to resolve claims efficiently
  • Support catastrophe response efforts, including potential overtime, on-call periods, or travel when required
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year of experience in customer service, insurance claims, construction-related work, or military leadership
  • Understanding of property claims handling and insurance policy interpretation
  • Experience using estimating tools (e.g., Xactimate or similar platforms preferred)
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to manage multiple systems and prioritize workload effectively
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain an insurance adjuster license within required timeframe
  • Ability to travel up to 25% (as needed for catastrophe response or business needs)

Preferred Experience

  • Experience handling residential property claims (e.g., water, roof, personal property damage)
  • End-to-end claims ownership (assessment, estimating, coverage determination, settlement)
  • Experience in a call centre or high-volume claims environment
  • Familiarity with tools such as Xactimate, virtual inspection platforms, or claims management systems
  • Active Property & Casualty (P&C) adjuster license
  • Experience within a standard insurance carrier environment
  • Military service or military spouse background

Additional Information

  • Full training provided (approximately 12 weeks)
  • Hybrid/remote flexibility depending on proximity to office location
  • May require evening, weekend, or catastrophe duty during surge periods
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available)
