The Qualifications We Seek

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar accounting role
  • Knowledge of accounting processes and account management
  • Strong communication, analytical, and auditing skills
  • Strong knowledge of various types of company or organizational properties
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting principles, particularly those related to assets and properties
  • Ability to prepare financial statements accurately and efficiently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of real estate accounting software, preferred
  • Knowledge of Timberline, an advantage

Your Daily Tasks

  • Apply accounting principles to ensure the timely and accurate completion of financial activities for assigned properties.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly and quarterly financial statements for assigned real estate entities.
  • Provide accurate financial statements and reports to investors and lenders.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly construction loan draws and other lender reporting requirements for properties under development.
  • Review project costs and collaborate with project managers on construction loan draws.
  • Support the Controller in assessing insurance requirements for property acquisitions, project turnovers, and dispositions.
  • Maintain recurring payables and process miscellaneous cash receipts.
  • Code invoices for assigned properties and process payments and recurring payables.
  • Select checks for weekly payment processing.
  • Assist Property Managers with budget preparation and financial reporting.
  • Enter and report asset acquisitions.
  • Update recurring general ledger entries to reflect depreciation, write-offs, and accrual changes.
  • Identify and resolve accounting, financial reporting, and tax issues.
  • Update the Notes Payable spreadsheet monthly, track principal due on current notes, and add or remove notes as needed.
  • Review and assess property tax assessments and identify assessments for appeal.
  • Monitor property tax obligations and ensure timely payments.
  • Maintain accurate records of taxes due, current assessments, assessment changes, and tax assessment value comparisons.
  • Assist with the preparation of year-end financial reports for lenders.
  • Provide monthly financial statements and rent rolls to lenders upon request.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the financial management of assigned properties.
