Proofreader (Remote, Contract)

About This Role

Proofreading B2B content for accuracy, polish, and brand alignment is the core of this role. The Proofreader will collaborate with writers and internal teams to maintain high-quality content and ensure projects move forward, suiting a detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Edit and proofread B2B content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, usage, clarity, consistency, and brand voice
• Ensure content aligns with client style guides, editorial standards, messaging, and project requirements
• Provide clear, constructive feedback to writers
• Cross-check references, claims, data, and source material for accuracy
• Identify factual inconsistencies, unsupported statements, and potential plagiarism
• Collaborate with writers, designers, and other departments
• Review and occasionally revise internal documents and client-facing materials
• Manage multiple assignments while meeting deadlines
• Maintain a high standard of quality across all reviewed content

Requirements

• Excellent English writing, editing, and proofreading skills
• Strong understanding of grammar, punctuation, syntax, style, and usage
• Experience editing and proofreading long-form and short-form content
• 1+ year of proofreading or editing experience
• 1+ year of writing experience
• Familiarity with style guides and brand voice requirements
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Highly organized, adaptable, proactive, and solutions-oriented
• Able to work EST hours
