Proofreader

About This Role

Working carefully to ensure accuracy, the Proofreader reviews composite proofs before they are sent to clients for final approval. This role involves collaborating with various departments and maintaining knowledge of industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Become familiar with the specifics of each job, as supplied by the customer
• Review proofs to ensure that text and graphic elements meet basic standards of grammar and syntax, in addition to matching customer specifications
• Compare proofs to customer supplied composites, proofs and matrixes
• Collaborate with various departments such as Variable Imaging, Data Solutions, Quality Control and Customer Service to resolve any discrepancies discovered in text/graphic elements
• Maintain an extensive knowledge of all industry standards relative to the proofreader role
• Work independently and mentor other employees
• Build and maintain positive relationships throughout all levels of the organization

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Intermediate level computer skills within a Windows environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to switch between multiple tasks without compromising quality
• Demonstrated ability to work independently
• Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills

Nice to have:

• Previous experience as a proofreader in the direct mail industry
