Proofreader and Quality Control

About This Role

This role combines proofreading with quality control, ensuring that all written and digital content meets the highest standards of accuracy, clarity, and grammatical correctness. The position suits a meticulous individual with an exceptional eye for detail and a strong command of style guides, capable of maintaining consistency across large volumes of content under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly inspect copy for spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, and typographical errors
• Verify that all content adheres to company style guides, brand voice, and internal formatting standards
• Cross-reference names, dates, statistics, links, and factual claims against reliable sources to ensure absolute accuracy
• Check layout proofs, typography, alignment, and design elements to ensure visual and textual integrity before final publication or printing
• Work closely with designers and project managers to resolve discrepancies and implement corrections smoothly
• Document recurring errors, maintain tracking logs, and provide feedback to content creators to improve overall output quality
• Prioritize multiple projects effectively to ensure timely delivery without compromising on quality

Requirements

• Proven professional experience as a proofreader, copyeditor, or in a dedicated quality control role (publishing, marketing, or corporate communications preferred)
• Obsessive attention to detail: the ability to spot the single misplaced comma or typo in a large document
• Strong analytical skills to question inconsistencies and logical gaps in text
• Exceptional organizational skills to handle high-volume workloads
• 1 year of proofreading experience (Preferred)
