Job Summary

This role leads day-to-day delivery for the Financial Hospital Indemnity program in a combined Project Manager / Release Train Engineer (RTE) capacity. The position is responsible for driving integrated planning, delivery governance, Agile Release Train coordination, program-level dependency management, and cross-functional execution across product, business, technology, QA, release, vendor, and stakeholder teams. The ideal candidate is a self-directed, action-oriented delivery leader who can create clarity, maintain cadence, remove blockers, escalate risks with recommendations, and enable predictable delivery outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the integrated delivery plan (milestones, dependencies, sprint/release calendar, and key deliverables).
  • Run delivery governance: workstream syncs, RAID management, decision and action tracking, and release readiness cadence.
  • Serve as the Project Manager / RTE lead for the program by coordinating Agile Release Train execution, maintaining delivery cadence, and ensuring alignment across multiple Agile teams and workstreams.
  • Facilitate and prepare for key scaled Agile ceremonies as applicable, including PI planning readiness, ART syncs, Scrum-of-Scrums, PO syncs, system demos, inspect-and-adapt discussions, and release readiness reviews.
  • Track and manage program-level objectives, delivery commitments, dependencies, impediments, and risks across teams; escalate with clear options and recommended actions.
  • Promote Lean-Agile delivery discipline by encouraging backlog readiness, sprint predictability, transparent metrics, continuous improvement, and alignment between product, architecture, engineering, QA, and release management.
  • Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies; drive mitigation plans and escalations with recommended actions.
  • Coordinate across product, business, engineering, QA, and environment/release teams to ensure aligned execution.
  • Manage scope alignment and change control by documenting impacts to timeline, cost, and deliverables.
  • Produce executive-ready status reporting (weekly status, milestones, KPIs, forward look, and support requests).
  • Facilitate stakeholder communications and ensure timely decisions to avoid delivery delays.
  • Support cutover and go-live planning (readiness checklists, runbook coordination, and go/no-go inputs).

Required Experience

  • 8 years of project management experience delivering technology programs; insurance domain experience required.
  • Demonstrated success managing cross-functional delivery with multiple workstreams and vendor/onshore/offshore teams.
  • Hands-on experience performing Project Manager / RTE, Agile Program Manager, Scrum Master, or similar scaled Agile delivery leadership responsibilities across multiple teams.
  • Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methods; comfort operating in ambiguity and evolving priorities.

Nice-to-Have Experience

  • Exposure to insurance platforms (EIS, Guidewire, Duck Creek, or similar).
  • Experience delivering supplemental or voluntary benefits (Hospital Indemnity, Accident, Critical Illness).
  • Experience supporting release/cutover activities in regulated environments.
  • SAFe certification or formal Agile training preferred, such as SAFe Release Train Engineer, SAFe Agilist, Scrum Master, or equivalent practical experience.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of insurance products and operations.
  • Strong governance discipline (RAID, action/decision logs, dependency management) and ability to operate with minimal direction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to produce concise, leadership-ready updates.

Behavioral Expectations (Critical)

  • Highly proactive and action-oriented; does not require repeated follow-ups.
  • Owns outcomes end-to-end and escalates risks early with options and recommendations.
  • Strong stakeholder presence; communicates clearly, calmly, and consistently.
  • Disciplined progress reporting and transparent status; no surprises.

Preferred Skills

Tools / Technology (Preferred Exposure)

  • Jira, Confluence (or equivalent backlog/documentation tools).
  • MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent planning tools.
  • Microsoft Teams and standard collaboration tools.
  • Agile planning and reporting tools used for program-level tracking, dependency management, PI objectives, roadmap visibility, release readiness, and delivery metrics.

Benefits

  • Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans
  • 401k Retirement Fund
