Position Summary The Project Manager - Spill Response Operations & Field Health and Safety is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a nationwide spill response call and triage center, ensuring timely incident intake, staffing coordination, response activation, and client communication. This role serves as the primary coordinator between call center personnel, response teams, subcontractors, and clients while also providing health and safety oversight and support for field personnel.
In addition, the Project Manager monitors fleet and driver performance through the Azuga telematics platform, identifies trends and risks, and works with field teams to improve driving safety, regulatory compliance, and operational performance. The position plays a key role in supporting company health and safety programs, incident investigations, training initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities Spill Response Call Center Management
- Manage daily operations of the spill response call and triage center.
- Ensure 24/7 staffing coverage and escalation procedures are maintained.
- Oversee incident intake, documentation, prioritization, and dispatch activities.
- Monitor response times and service level performance metrics.
- Coordinate deployment of field personnel, subcontractors, and resources during emergency response activities.
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients during spill response events.
- Develop and maintain call center procedures, workflows, and quality assurance programs.
- Analyze response trends and provide operational improvement recommendations.
Project and Program Management
- Manage spill response projects from initiation through closeout in the company platform.
- Track project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and client expectations.
- Develop project status reports and performance dashboards.
- Coordinate cross-functional resources to support emergency response and environmental projects.
- Maintain project documentation and regulatory records.
Driver Safety & Azuga Monitoring
- Monitor driver performance through the Azuga fleet management platform.
- Review driving behaviors including speeding, harsh braking, acceleration, distracted driving, seat belt usage, and other safety indicators.
- Identify high-risk trends and implement corrective action programs.
- Generate and distribute fleet safety reports and key performance indicators.
- Partner with supervisors to improve driver safety performance and regulatory compliance.
- Support vehicle incident reviews and root cause investigations.
Health & Safety Support
- Provide health and safety guidance and support to field personnel nationwide.
- Chair national safety committee specific large client.
- Assist with development, implementation, and maintenance of company health and safety programs.
- Assure safety protocols are in place to address long worker requirements.
- Conduct incident, near-miss, and vehicle accident investigations.
- Track corrective actions and ensure timely completion.
- Coordinate safety training, toolbox talks, and employee safety communications.
- Support regulatory compliance with applicable OSHA, DOT, and environmental requirements.
- Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), and site-specific safety plans.
