Project Manager - Operations

About This Role

This role is about leading the execution of medium-size projects, ensuring all activities are carried out according to procedures, regulations, standards, specifications, and targets. You will lead project team members to achieve project requirements, deliver contracted deliverables, and meet committed project results.

Responsibilities

• Develop and analyze project execution, monitor project KPIs, and ensure consistent project execution across teams in the factory
• Prioritize actions based on strategic alignment, value, and resource capacity
• Ensure leadership has clear visibility to make informed investment decisions and track project progress
• Develop an execution plan with strong delivery, design, test, and user documentation, product cost estimates, risk mitigation techniques, and operating procedures that are fully implemented and effectively executed, including high-quality reporting on project status
• Develop a framework for leaders to work collaboratively with cross-functional departments and team members including Engineering, Product Management, Supply Chain Management, Laboratory, Technical Services, Operations, and Quality Control
• Implement and maintain project management tools, follow up with teams to use them consistently, and automate reporting, workflows, and documentation
• Share executive summaries with operational excellence, factory management, R&D leadership, and product management periodically

Requirements

• Bachelor

's degree in engineering (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree preferred) is required, master

's degree is considered an advantage

• Minimum of 12-14 years (10+ years in case of master

's degree) of experience in project management and engineering management of electrical power systems product development environment

• Direct experience in the electrical/mechanical industry with project management in product development, project team management in a factory operations environment, or in a power utility is strongly preferred
• Must possess strong project management skills with demonstrated capability to meet project deadlines and deliver results
• PM certification is preferred as well as experience in managing stage-gate projects using waterfall project methodology
• Additional experience using Agile product development methodology is a plus
• Strong people management or supervisory experience
• Must have the ability to travel domestically and internationally
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
