Project Manager, IT

About This Role

Project Manager, IT is a role within the Project Services team, which provides project management, business systems analysis, quality management, portfolio management, and technical communication services for KPMG in Canada’s technology and key business initiatives. This position involves managing and ensuring the successful delivery of project objectives, working closely with other Tech Leads, and contributing to the development of project management standards and methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Manage and ensure project objectives are successfully delivered
• Plan and manage large-scale information technology development and implementation projects to ensure business objectives and stakeholder needs and expectations are met
• Work closely with other Tech Leads to ensure the success of the portfolio and the projects
• Participate in the development of project management standards and methodologies
• Work beyond normal workday or work week to fulfill accountabilities when business needs arise
• Manage a portfolio of complex initiatives that span one or multiple lines of business
• Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence
• Understand interdependencies between technology, operations and business needs
• Participate and/or drive vendor selections and proposals for evaluation by appropriate key stakeholders
• Develop and manage all aspects of project engagement from planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks and issues
• Develop and deliver progress reports and presentations to various audiences, including project teams, sponsors, senior leadership and key stakeholders
• Manage client and other stakeholder expectations to maintain productive and engaged relationships
• Conduct risk analysis to reduce unforeseen obstacles and issues
• Deliver appropriate and effective executive level communication

Requirements

• University or College Degree in a related field
• PMP Certification already obtained
• 7-8 years of experience in project management
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Excel)
• Strong understanding of Waterfall and Agile methodology
• Experience with risk management tools and techniques
• Knowledge of budget management
