About the role

Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and structured Project Manager International Expansion to drive and coordinate our international growth strategy. In this role, you will act as the operational engine managing our global expansion footprint. You will oversee end-to-end partner onboarding workflows—from initial engagement and contract execution to tech integration and go-live—while tracking project costs, analyzing rate structures, and providing clear visibility into our global expansion progress.

Key Responsibilities

1. Expansion Operations & Milestone Tracking

  • Own and maintain the global Expansion Dashboard, tracking progress across regions, countries, and service lanes.
  • Define and manage project timelines, deliverables, and critical paths for launching operations in new international markets.
  • Conduct regular status meetings with internal cross-functional teams (Legal, Operations, Tech, Finance) to clear bottlenecks and keep target launch dates on schedule.

2. Partner Pipeline & Relationship Management

  • Manage the centralized pipeline of prospective global logistics partners (3PLs, last-mile carriers, freight forwarders, linehaul providers, customs brokers).
  • Track every stage of the partner lifecycle: Initial Outreach $\rightarrow$ NDA Execution $\rightarrow$ Commercial Negotiations $\rightarrow$ Contract Signing $\rightarrow$ Operational Onboarding $\rightarrow$ Go-Live.
  • Coordinate cross-functional workstreams for partner onboarding, ensuring smooth handoffs between business development, legal, compliance, and local operations.

3. Systems & Technical Integration Coordination

  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to track system-to-system integrations (APIs, EDI, tracking feeds) with international partner platforms.
  • Ensure operational prerequisites (labeling standards, customs clearing protocols, tracking webhook setups) are met prior to commercial rollouts.

4. Commercial Cost Cards & Financial Comparisons

  • Build and manage standardized Cost Cards and rate matrices across international lanes, carriers, and service types.
  • Perform comparative cost analysis (rate benchmarks, weight/volume slab comparisons, fuel surcharges, duties/ddu fees) to guide commercial negotiations and pricing strategy.
  • Monitor expansion budget allocation, startup costs, and projected vs. actual unit economics per international lane.

Qualifications & Key Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain/Logistics, Engineering, or Finance. PMP or PRINCE2 certification is a plus.

  • Experience: 4–7 years of project management experience, preferably within logistics, freight forwarding, cross-border e-commerce, or supply chain consulting.

  • Domain Knowledge:

  • Solid understanding of international shipping workflows (linehaul, customs clearance, last-mile delivery, Incoterms).

  • Familiarity with vendor onboarding lifecycles and partner integration frameworks.

  • Technical & Analytical Skills:

  • Expertise in project management software (Jira, Asana, Monday.com, Trello, or MS Project).

  • Advanced MS Excel / Google Sheets skills for building multi-carrier rate comparisons, scenario modeling, and cost card analyses.

  • Proficiency in building dashboard reports (Power BI, Tableau, or native PM dashboards) for leadership reporting.

  • Soft Skills: Exceptional cross-cultural communication skills, strong negotiation follow-through, and the ability to drive accountability across matrixed teams.
