Project Management Leader

About This Role

This leadership position oversees and executes new equipment orders within BW Papersystems' corrugating product line. The Project Management Leader guides a high-functioning project management team, applies project management discipline, and drives the successful execution of new equipment projects, ensuring adherence to budget and schedule. This role involves project execution and client coordination across the company, including budgeting, forecasting, resource management, scheduling, engineering, integration, installation, start-up, and project closure.

Responsibilities

• Ensure project scope, deliverables, and schedule are clearly defined and agreed to prior to project execution
• Achieve objectives for all projects through the project management team, including milestones, schedule adherence, product cost targets, and project cost targets
• Develop, implement, and maintain a standards playbook for all projects, including scheduling management systems, work breakdown structures, critical path/dependency assessment tools, and project status reporting processes/systems
• Ensure disciplined adherence to project management execution playbooks and standards
• Perform quality control on the project throughout development to maintain expected standards
• Ensure consistent alignment across all stakeholders, including BWP leadership, internal functional departments, and customers, to keep projects on track with business goals
• Make effective decisions when presented with multiple options to drive forward project progress
• Adjust and communicate schedule and target changes on the project as needs or financing for the project change
• Identify potential project schedule delays, facilitate recovery plan/option analysis, and recommend actions to keep projects within budget and completed on time
• Partner with outside OEMs to define scope of requirements, manage purchasing process, and ensure execution and accountability
• Be responsible for all project documentation control and formal communication
• Develop individual team members' project management competencies
• Lead, direct, and coach less experienced team members and/or project managers

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; B.S. in Engineering preferred
• 8+ years of experience as a Project Manager, preferably in a technical or manufacturing environment
• 5+ years of experience leading teams of Project Managers
• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and analytical skills
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams across all levels of the organization
