Project Management Associate Director

About This Role

This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead transformational projects, streamlining Supply Chain processes through digitization and AI. The Associate Director will be responsible for the integration, creation, and execution of multiple complex project and program plans, partnering with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure successful, on-budget deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Independently lead teams for multiple, complex projects
• Inspire teams to think outside the box of what has already been done
• Partner with Digital Technology and Engineering (DTE) to identify opportunities to leverage digital data, automation, and AI as project deliverables are defined
• Develop and gain consensus for project plans, budgets, goals, and logistics
• Interact with and influence functional areas outside of Supply Chain
• Proactively conduct complex scenario analyses and provide recommendations on alternative plans, along with the associated assumptions and risks, to teams and leadership
• Report to leadership program information such as progress on deliverables and milestones, progress toward realization of project benefits, and degree of adoption of changes triggered by the project (i.e., process changes)
• Compile succinct reports and prepare minutes for select internal meetings; methodically track action items, and find new ways to stay abreast of these multi-dimensional tasks
• Maintain frequent communication with the network of cross-functional internal and external stakeholders so that all parties are aware of current program status, issues, contingencies, and milestones
• Contribute to the best practices of project management to support the continued success and evolution of the department
• Develop tools for project management, project benefit measurement, Return on Investment projection and reporting, and promote and coordinate the use of these tools by the department
• Establish Supply Chain departmental governance and create, implement, and share standardized and effective project management tools and processes
• Be accountable for project and program timelines and deliverables and successful execution of program governance

Requirements

• Specialized, in-depth knowledge of project planning principles and tools (such as charters, project interdependency matrices, business case formats, ROI calculations, and change management tools)
• Experience managing projects in the pharmaceutical industry
• Significant experience working with MS Project and Smartsheet
• Highly skilled at formulating and delivering presentations to senior managers
• Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
• Able to communicate complex ideas across functional boundaries, gain alignment, and persuade individuals and teams to take action
