Project Engineer

About This Role

This project engineering role supports large-scale, complex nuclear projects for various clients, including government agencies and commercial nuclear companies. The position involves providing design management support and leadership across capital projects, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and financial performance. It suits an experienced, collaborative professional who excels at keeping teams aligned, stakeholders engaged, and projects delivered on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Assist project managers in the execution of large nuclear projects
• Manage and/or coordinate project activities in compliance with the contract
• Ensure the safety, quality, value, and timeliness of assigned projects
• Perform essential project engineering functions, including monitoring progress, documenting communications and meetings, and identifying/evaluating project issues and problems
• Collaborate in management and coordination of activities among all project functions and engineering disciplines in accordance with established project baseline documents
• Review project staffing requirements and coordinate staffing with supporting functional organization managers and/or subcontractors
• Support creation and coordination of overall project plans and schedules, and monitor activities, progress, and milestones against the plans
• Support creation and coordination of project effort hours, and cost estimates and budgets, and monitor progress and cost performance against these
• Support coordination between design, procurement, material management and construction on technical and schedule requirements
• Assist the Project Manager in developing required documentation to communicate project contractual and technical issues, status and progress reports
• Conduct/coordinate related meetings as necessary
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor
• 7 years of experience in engineering
• USA Citizenship is required
• Experience in the performance of functional tasks on projects with a well-developed understanding of procedures and interfaces
• Previous successful performance in a project engineering position on a minimum of two medium or large sized projects
• Proficient at initiating and growing solid relationships with clients, vendors and suppliers while meeting the company
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to set and maintain high standards of performance with responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments and tasks
• Proactive in taking prompt and appropriate action to ensure objectives are accomplished and apply necessary follow-up to monitor progress and results of project tasks and assignments
