Project Engineer

About This Role

This Project Engineer role involves solving complex problems that require detailed knowledge of engineering and project management best practices. The position focuses on developing and improving processes, analyzing solutions using standard procedures, and performing assignments based on experience and knowledge of standard engineering and design concepts. It is located at a client site, with some flexibility for remote work.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for projects, typically up to $500K, within programmatic guidelines
• Define, generate, and review project requirements documentation
• Perform technical studies to refine project requirements
• Monitor projects to ensure work scope, schedule, and budget are well-defined and maintained
• Coordinate between resource managers/supervisors and ensure all necessary reviews and approvals are received
• May conduct performance/project analyses during phase-down to benefit future projects or programs
• Perform routine assignments at the entry level of a professional job progression
• Develop competence by performing structured work assignments
• Use existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems
• Receive instruction, guidance, and direction from others
• Apply conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures within a discipline
• Apply general knowledge of the industry developed through education or past experience
• Accountable for developing own technical contribution, with no mentoring or advisory responsibilities
• Use existing procedures to solve standard problems; analyze information and standard practices to make judgments

Requirements

• Bachelor

’s Degree in Engineering required; Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering discipline preferred

• 1-5 years of project engineering experience required
• Small project cost control and support preferred
• Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office products
• Strong business and analytical acumen
• Advanced interpersonal and communication skills to achieve results in an interdisciplinary environment

Physical Qualifications

• Work is located at a working client site, requiring exposure to ambient temperature extremes
• Extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders and scaffolding, working on elevated platforms and uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces
• Ability to lift up to 20lbs may be required
• Ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress)
• Ability to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e., harness, life vest, lift buckets, hearing and eye protection, steel-toed boots, etc.)
