Project Engineer

About This Role

Planning and running construction projects is the core of this engineering job, supporting the Owner's Representative team on a large-scale construction program. This position suits a proactive and highly organized engineer who is comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an assistant to the assigned Project Manager (PM) to improve effectiveness and efficiency by implementing technical tasks as needed
• Operate in the office and/or field for administrative duties essential to project delivery
• Become familiar with all pertinent Contract documents as well as Project management software and controls systems
• Assist in the processing and monitoring of progress payments, submittals, document management/controls and distribution, and general management of project-related office support services through the Owners Project Management Software (PMIS) Kahua
• Stay familiar with Airport Operations, necessary security protocols and Airport notification processes (i.e. SIRs, MCNs, NOTAMs, etc.) so that work can continue in a timely manner
• Assist PM on dissemination of information as needed with particular attention to upcoming work efforts that require notifications
• Provide open and honest communication to the project team, HCAA Staff and others as required, both oral and written, depending on the situation at hand
• Participate in all necessary meetings with Design Builders/Contractors and HCAA staff as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 5 years of construction project administrative experience, preferably in construction, engineering, or architecture environments
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Strong organizational skills as a team member with attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively under tight deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working in an active jobsite trailer and adapting to changing project needs
