Project Director

About This Role

This leadership role involves leading large-scale MRT station and tunnelling projects from start to finish, overseeing all stages from design through to commissioning. The Project Director will be the main contact for various external and internal stakeholders, ensuring smooth project delivery and communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of large-scale tunnelling projects, overseeing all phases from design coordination and construction to testing and commissioning
• Act as the primary point of contact for LTA, government agencies, consultants, and internal management, ensuring alignment and clear communication
• Drive construction strategy, resource planning, and project scheduling to meet critical milestones and overcome complex challenges
• Oversee project financials, including budgeting, cost control, claims, and variation management to ensure profitability
• Ensure all works are carried out in strict compliance with LTA specifications, regulatory requirements, and the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental management
• Lead, mentor, and develop a large, multi-disciplinary team of engineers, construction managers, and commercial staff to foster a high-performance culture
• Proactively identify and mitigate technical, operational, and commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline
• Minimum of 15 to 20 years of progressive experience in civil infrastructure, with significant experience on large-scale MRT or tunnelling projects
• Proven track record delivering LTA projects in Singapore (e.g., Cross Island Line - CRL, Thomson-East Coast Line - TEL, Downtown Line - DTL, or Circle Line - CCL) is mandatory
• Deep expertise in underground station construction, deep excavation, and tunnelling works (TBM and cut-and-cover methods)
• Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple teams and projects concurrently
