The Institute also serves as a national hub for research that will drive new solutions to this public health crisis and will train the next generation of leaders in the field. The Institute is supported by an organizational structure that provides internal oversight and external guidance and focuses activities across six cores: 1) research, 2) education and training, 3) community engagement, 4) policy, 5) implementation, and 6) data and methods; and across six pillars: firearm-related suicide, firearm-related intimate partner violence, community violence, unintentional shootings, police shootings, and mass/school violence.
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented project coordinator to work closely with the team at the Institute to develop, design, and conduct Institute projects and initiatives. The Coordinating Center (housed in IFIP) coordinates five research projects across the country, a steering committee, a stakeholder committee, and the NIH, in a cohesive network to evaluate the efficacy of community-based firearm violence interventions across various settings and populations.
Key initial activities include developing center activities, providing centralized administrative, operational, and logistical support to network activities, support cross-project communication and coordination, provide technical assistance to network projects regarding research design and statistical methods, project management and collaboration across the Coordinating Center's cores.
The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the Coordinating Center Managing Director. This person is expected to understand and support the conduct of research within all federal, state and local regulatory requirements.
