Program Manager Startup

About This Role

This program manager role is responsible for executing activities within the Startup Utrecht Region ecosystem, which supports over 1300 startups and scale-ups. The position involves organizing events, facilitating learning sessions, and connecting founders with resources and investors. It suits an experienced program manager with an affinity for the startup world and strong networking skills.

Responsibilities

• Organize meetups where founders can connect
• Organize sessions where founders can learn from experienced entrepreneurs and investors
• Organize pitch events with angel investors
• Collaborate closely with the Lead Startup Utrecht to translate strategic direction into execution
• Act as a sparring partner for founders, referring them to appropriate individuals and organizations for development
• Build a network with colleagues to better support entrepreneurs
• Annually organize Crossroads, the region's startup event, with partners like Dotslash and Utrecht Inc
• Produce the annual startup monitor

Requirements

• Completed HBO or WO education (higher professional education or university education)
• At least 5 years of work experience
• Experience with or affinity for startups and scale-ups, preferably with startup ecosystems
• Preferably, experience working in a startup or having founded your own company
• Understanding of both the public context of stakeholders and private interests, and the ability to connect them
• Flexible with excellent communication skills
• Experience organizing events and meetings
• Practical mindset and ability to get things done
• Enjoy being on stage, moderating meetings, and communicating in English
