About the role

Duties

In this position, you will serve as an analyst and advisor to the leadership of FEMA's National Preparedness Directorate with a focus on data analysis, workflow management and strategic communications.

Typical assignments include:

  • Prepare and deliver written and oral communications to NPD Assistant Administrator, Deputy Assistant Administrator, Senior Advisor and Executive Officer;
  • Prepare a variety of correspondence and other documentation, i.e., formal letters, position papers, reports, staff studies, staff summary packages, briefings, charts, background papers;
  • Provide internal oral briefings and responds to other internal inquiries as well as requests for information by telephone and email, with all responses completed in a timely and courteous manner, and reflecting determinations within the parameters of established law and policy;
  • Design and implement systems and standard operating procedures based on recommendations to assist management in operating more efficiently and effectively;
  • Prepare and conduct briefings for higher level management to explain the specific analysis of subject matter, as well as to provide recommendations or action plans and provide guidance and/or direction for implementation;
  • Maintain the directorate Sharepoint system.
